Beyond Great Photos

Your photos might be incredible, but if the experience of working with you isn't memorable, you're leaving referrals on the table.

Here's how to create a client experience that turns every couple into your biggest advocates.

The Touchpoint Map

Every interaction is an opportunity:

  1. Inquiry - First impression
  2. Discovery call - Building connection
  3. Booking - Making it easy
  4. Pre-wedding - Building anticipation
  5. Wedding day - The main event
  6. Delivery - Exceeding expectations
  7. Follow-up - Staying top of mind

Standout Strategies

1. The Personalized Welcome Package

After booking, send a physical package:

  • Handwritten thank you note
  • Planning guide with your branding
  • Small gift (candle, print credit, etc.)
  • QR code linking to their client portal

**Cost:** ~$30 | **Impact:** Huge

2. The "I Was Thinking About You" Text

Between booking and the wedding, send occasional messages:

  • "Just saw this venue on Instagram and thought of your day!"
  • "Came across this song that might be perfect for your first dance"
  • "Can't wait - only 60 days to go!"

This keeps you top of mind without being salesy.

3. The Golden Hour Reminder

Two weeks before the wedding, send a timeline suggestion:

"Based on sunset at [time], I recommend scheduling portraits at [time] for that dreamy golden hour light. Here's an example from a similar venue..."

4. The Day-After Text

The morning after, send a simple message:

"MARRIED! ๐Ÿฅ‚ I hope you're relaxing today - you deserve it. Already went through some images and I'm SO excited. Here's a little sneak peek..."

Attach 2-3 stunning images.

Don't just dump files:

  • Create a beautiful slideshow as the first thing they see
  • Include a personal video message
  • Organize images into chapters
  • Add download reminders at 60 and 85 days

Measuring Success

Ask every client:

  1. "How did you hear about me?" (Track referral source)
  2. "Would you recommend me to a friend?" (NPS score)
  3. "What could I have done better?" (Improvement feedback)

The Referral Loop

At gallery delivery, include:

  • Referral cards to give to engaged friends
  • Incentive: "$200 off for you AND your friend"
  • Make it easy: QR code to your contact page
